Picking Up The Pace

Breakfast was a fruit and yogurt cup followed by cheese-filled puff pastry. Nice. We continued on with our usual day, taking water samples at some homes with one team and doing household surveys with the second team. Everything is pretty much standard by now. Everybody knows their jobs.

Because the Coliform tests proved our expectations, we continued doing chemical tests on open wells and taking samples for Coliform tests on the covered, protected wells.  We ran out of sterile bottles, so we had an impromptu H2O2 sterilization.

Lunch at 1:30 was a little late. But as usual the community did a nice job with a bowl of chicken soup, rice, fried beef, and mashed potatoes. We also had fresh pineapple juice.

The afternoon continued with a visit to the local river, where people came to wash clothes, as well as more site surveys and well tests. Late in the day Parker felt unwell and he sat aside for the rest of the day until we could test him for Covid. Yeah. Negative!!
